| HD Biosciences Announces the Appointment of Chief Operation Officer |

July 7, 2008 -- HD Biosciences Inc. (HDB) announces the hiring of Mr. Wen
Chen as Chief Operation Officer. Before this appointment, he was with San
Diego-based Huya Bioscience International as its Chief Representative in
China and most recently as Senior Vice President for China Operation to
source, license proprietary novel compounds in China for product and
clinical development in the West. "Along with his local operation experience
in biotech industry, Wen's knowledge in preclinical studies could benefit
potential client's needs", commented by Dr. Xuehai Tan, President and CEO of
HDB. Mr. Chen received his B.S. degree in biochemistry from Purdue
University and M.S. in immunology and oncology from Washington University
Medical Center in St. Louis in. Mr. Chen then worked at Harvard University
Medical School as a research associate. In 1996, he joined Amgen in Thousand
Oaks as a research associate. Mr. Chen returned to China after his MBA
program at Durham University in UK in 1999 and worked for local Shanghai
Venture Corp, Hong Kong-based conglomerate New World China Enterprise,
involved in operations, IND registration and business development with local
start-ups including IgCon Therapeutics for humanized monoclonal antibody
therapeutic development, Advanced Cell Tech for dendritic cell-based therapy
and Huayi Bio-Lab for its lead T2DM candidates development. |
